Activity Description

Visitors will have the opportunity to have an educational and delicious experience combining a tour to the L’Ormarins olive groves, olive oil tasting and a specially curated lunch showcasing the best ways to cook with Extra Virgin Olive oil.
This experience is hosted by the Terra del Capo team at Anthonij Rupert Estate, who will accompany you to the Estate’s olive groves to learn more about its boutique olive oil production. Following this, the group takes a brief scenic drive back to the Tasting room, where an olive oil tasting will be presented by one of our Olive oil experts. There will be plenty of delicious olive oils to try, as well as time to ask questions.
Finish off the experience on an even more delicious note, by enjoying an olive oil inspired three course lunch in the Terra del Capo Antipasti Bar.

We were welcomed with a glass of bubbly and explanation of the day’s program. We then took a scenic drive with old trams across this beautiful farm to the olive groves. The cultivation of olives was explained and we learned about the difficulties and joys of olive farming. We then returned for a very well presented olive oil tasting and one of the best lunches I ever had! The use of olive oil in cooking was masterfully demonstrated. The olive oil poached salmon was out of this world Our hosts knowledge and passion for their products, the Estate’s world class wines and food to match, and the beautiful surroundings, made this a very enjoyable experience. Hi, we really enjoyed this event. It was well organised, the people involved (Elana, Ingrid etc.) were fantastically friendly and made us feel very welcome on our first attendance of a club event. The tour around the farm and visit to the olive groves was excellent and Bill spoke very well and engaging about the work being done. The meal was also very good and we really appreciate the team doing their best to accommodate our 12 yr old. Bill was willing to discuss and answer however many questions we had, and he did so in the most friendly manner The only thing that could have been done better was the fact that the event started 20 mins late, but this is not the fault of the team organising the event. Starting late reduced the time we could spend on the tour, which was a pity. Almost everyone made the effort to get there on time despite having full schedules and flights booked etc.. For one couple to feel it is okay to arrive so late and offer a lame excuse is just disrespectful. I would suggest in future people are requested to arrive on time and if not, that the rest of the group will proceed with the planned activities.
